Give Kids a Book Campaign - March 2010 - Charlotte, NC

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 10, 2010 -- Subaru South Blvd is partnering with Classroom Central for their annual book drive

Charlotte’s newest Subaru dealer, Subaru South Blvd, is partnering with Classroom Central for their Give Kids a Book Campaign. Give Kids a Book is a drive to collect new and gently used books for children in pre-k through 12th grade. Classroom Central will distribute all donated books through their Free Store that serves 149 schools in six districts.

Research shows that children growing up in low-income households have 0 or 1 age appropriate books at home compared to middle-income households with 50 or more books at home. Research also shows that three quarters of all children who cannot read by the end of first grade will never catch up with their peers. Drop off new or gently used books from March 2 – 31. Bring books to Subaru South Blvd, located at 9201 South Blvd in the former Saturn of South Blvd location. If you are uptown, we will be at The Atrium Uptown, 301 S Tryon Street, on Thursday, March 25th to accept books and school supply donations from 9 AM – 2 PM.

Since 2002, Classroom Central has been providing students with the supplies they need to succeed. Last academic year, Classroom Central distributed $4.4 million of school supplies to 86,000 students in119 schools in six school districts.
