FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 26, 2009 --

Orange, Calif. -- Immunization rates in developing countries remain significantly lower than those in industrialized nations. Nearly 2 million children under five years of age die from pneumonia each year—more than from HIV/AIDS, measles, and malaria combined. With World Pneumonia Day, November 2nd, 2009, GiveVaccines.org is seizing the opportunity to change this and ensure that necessary interventions reach the world’s most vulnerable and prevent avoidable deaths. To draw attention to the plight of these young children and the need to provide necessary life-saving vaccines, GiveVaccines.org will donate all the proceeds during the month of November to the Global Coalition Against Child Pneumonia and the World Pneumonia Day Coalition, www.worldpneumoniaday.com.

The web-site, www.GiveVaccines.org, combines a fast paced challenging vocabulary game, with the philanthropic goal of donating funds to purchase vaccines through the GAVI Alliance vaccine program and other organizations. Each correct answer will effectively contribute an incremental level of Ad revenues to this cause.

"We are excited to be part of this important coalition. Through the efforts of many wonderful people, organizations and the general public, we can make significant strides in the prevention of disease by increasing immunization rates. It is unconscionable that nearly 2 million children under five years of age die from pneumonia each year. World Pneumonia Day will draw attention to this unfortunate reality and give all of us an opportunity to donate life-saving vaccines to this cause. It is our goal at GiveVaccines.org to donate all net proceeds to this cause during the month of November" stated the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Samuel Rabinowitz.

To commemorate the World Pneumonia Day, GiveVaccines.org has created a special category around the topic of pneumonia. For this category and each of the other categories, there are 10 levels of difficulty. GiveVaccines.org will automatically adjust to words of varying levels of difficulty based on the on the participant’s performance. So, challenge yourself and your friends to see what level you can achieve.

GiveVaccines.org will donate funds to purchase life-saving vaccines based on the participant’s success. It is estimated that a typical vaccine to prevent pneumonia will cost approximately $0.15, which equates to 150 accumulative correct answers on GiveVaccines.org. The whole idea is to have fun, expand one's vocabulary and at the same time provide the funds to purchase live-saving vaccines for those in need.
