FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Frisco, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) November 23, 2010 --A Giving Tree for the Frisco Humane Society’s foster dogs and cats is being sponsored by local businesses this holiday season. The Giving Tree, fashioned after the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree concept, provides animal lovers the opportunity to create a joyful holiday for animals in need by donating food, toys, and treats to an animal “Angel” selected at one of several Giving Tree locations in the Frisco area.

The Frisco Humane Society (FHS) Giving Tree is the brainchild of Lori Myers, owner of Every Dog’s Day Canine Resort & Day Spa and an FHS sponsor. Myers worked with Jolie Stall, an FHS volunteer, to make the idea a reality. While Myers garnered support from local businesses and created a program model, Stall’s team of Southwest Airlines employee volunteers created the Giving Tree “Angels” and will manage the distribution of gifts to FHS foster homes in time for Christmas Day. “The Frisco Humane Society has over one hundred adoptable foster dogs and cats who need our help this holiday season” says Myers. “FHS has no shelter facility and relies on volunteers, fundraisers, and donations to care for rescued animals pending adoption. The Giving Tree project will help ensure a merry Christmas for these animals in need” Myers adds.

Playing "Santa Claws" for an FHS foster is easy; each paper Angel crafted by Stall’s team includes a photo, description, and wish list of an FHS foster dog or cat. Gifts purchased for the “Angel” are returned to the Giving Tree and will be distributed to the dog or cat selected. Giving Tree sponsored locations include Every Dog’s Day Canine Resort & Day Spa, Advantage Storage, Frisco West Animal Medical Center, Bentley’s Dog Wash & Fine Grooming, and office buildings in the area. The Giving Tree project officially begins the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 27th.

The Frisco Humane Society is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals in Frisco and the surrounding communities. FHS provides temporary foster care and medical attention for homeless animals until permanent homes can be found. FHS also helps to reduce the number of abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals through Education and Spay/Neuter programs.

Every Dog’s Day Canine Resort & Day Spa is a locally owned and operated resort for dogs offering boarding, grooming, daycare, and dog bakery services in Frisco. The Frisco Humane Society is a primary beneficiary of Every Dog’s Day through sponsorships and discounted services for the Society’s rescued foster dogs.
