Durham -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Oct 31, 2011 -- Each glass pendant hangs suspended, reflecting light with its own unique glints of color as they move. This is the new Dreams of Glass series of modernist jewelry, created by Rahdi Fakhoury, a pioneer in the American Studio glass jewelry movement.
3rd and 4th century AD glass blowing techniques mixed with 21st century technology and with the mind of a dreamer, creates one of a kind artistic hard glass pendants to last for centuries. The pendant shapes seem geometric from a distance: a balance of circles, rectangles, and triangles. Close up, however, you can see that the shapes are slightly irregular, lending an organic, natural feel to the pieces. Each pendant hangs as if it’s floating uninterrupted, and creating an interaction between the wearer and viewer. As the wearer moves, light glints from the pendant in changing patterns.
Rahdi’s jewelry designs are breathtakingly beautiful and hold their own against even the most dazzling gemstone necklaces. They are striking enough to be worn on special occasions and yet durable enough to withstand everyday wear.
Which pendant is your favorite? I couldn’t decide between the Rainbow on the Horizon pendant and Tiger Lily pendant. The first is a graceful circle, and I love how it hangs suspended. The second is more unusual and has a very interesting shape with delicate details.
