Each Detachment is commanded by a Staff Non-Commissioned Officer, being one of the few instances where an enlisted Marine may hold the title of "commander". Generally between the ranks of Staff Sergeant and Master Gunnery Sergeant, Marine Detachment Commanders serve two tours which generally last 18 months each. A Marine Security Guard usually serves three 12-month tours of duty. Marine Security Guard "watch standers" are enlisted Marines from the rank of Private First Class to Staff Sergeant.
Global Sea Security Storage :2nd MLG again deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in January 2007 for a year long tour to provide combat logistics support to the forces of Multi National Forces West in the Al Anbar Province. They were based at Camp Al Taqaddum and completed their tour in February 2008. In January, 2009, 2D MLG re-deployed back to Camp Al Taqaddum for a possible 6 months to one year tour.

Global Sea Security :The Marine Corps Security Force Regiment is a dedicated security and anti-/counter-terrorism unit of the United States Marine Corps.[1][2] It provides security forces to guard high-value naval installations, most notably those containing nuclear vessels and weapons. It also provides Fleet Antiterrorism Security Teams (FAST) and Recapture Tactics Teams (RTT).
