Globalcrossroadscapital.com reports on trend of high-paying social-media jobs

August 20, 2009

Two high paying social media jobs were reported on national news recently, underlying the increasing recognized equity value in such jobs as researched by Globalcrossroadscapital.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 20, 2009 -- First was a guy who won a contest to have a job on a South Pacific island off the coast of Australia. The job entails living on a deserted island and blogging about his adventures to include surfing, scuba diving, sailing, hiking, etc. The job pay: $100,000 for 6 months plus room and board.

Second is county job in Portland, Oregon that is seeking a full-time position to be filled. The "social media coordinator" job entails instant messaging to opt-in "followers" on Twitter about government services issues. The job pay: $70,000 annually. Recent reports indicate Google should buy Twitter for $1B.

Globalcrossroadscapital.com has already recognized the importance of social media for years and includes it amongst dozens of other integrated media choices for investor relations client campaigns. A few other choices featured on website include;

(a) media appearance publicity
(b) co-branding marketplace
(c) mobile iTV & podcasting
(d) syndicated PR publishing
(e) consumer generated publicity
(f) media bartered equity
(g) product placement
(h) rss newswires

What is the equity value of all these things occurring at the same time?

If anyone doubts the synergy between mobile media broadcasting and investor relations; note that the President of the United States successfully raised $1B in the last election using mobile media. This is the highest amount in a presidential election in US history.

The 4/09 edition of the icgmagazine.com headlines an article called "Now Playing on the Super-small Screen" in reference to the emerging powerhouse of internet TV providers such as hulu.com and youtube.com broadcasting via your cell phone.

The latter was sold last year for $1.6B and just recently Time Warner struck a distro-deal with youtube.com. Hulu was sold 5/09 to a joint venture between Disney and NBC; both which have extensive libraries. Hulu's appraisal 2 years ago was $1B and is currently doing a national TV-network ad campaign.

What is the emerging demand of simultaneous messaging of SMS? In 12/07 alone, customer-initiated text messaging for such things as customer "loyalty alerts" totaled 30B. Banks to ad agencies to film studios to restaurants are all jumping on the mobile media bandwagon. Penny Sleuth newsletter indicates that the TV show 'American Idol' generated 78M voting text messages during the 2008 season (and charges $1 each).

Lead generator aggregate providers such as Lendingtree and Oversee charge "on-demand". The latter firm featured in The New York Times generates revenues over $100M.

One could ignore the trends of technology in raising capital; but what would be the alternative? Call rooms with extensive labor costs and turnover? Or buying lead lists? Isn't publicity more powerful than soliciting?
