Going Green…

August 24, 2009

Sometimes what you can learn at neighborhood gathergings makes it well worth attending. Take it from me... I had no idea what Going Green was or how easy it was going to be to save money.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 24, 2009 --

During a neighborhood gathering the discussion of going Green came up. The topic seemed to catch everyone’s attention which surprised me since I was unaware that the movement was that popular. I began to listen in and was amazed at how many people were producing their energy with wind and solar power. In addition the term energy audit came up three times and I was not sure what an energy audit was. The individual who seemed most informed said that by performing the audit on his home he cut his energy bill by 40%. I was quite interested now since my monthly energy bill is near $600.00 a month. The discussion continued into magnetic generation of your own power. I now had solar and wind power and magnetic generators as well as energy audit to investigate. Here is what I have found. Going Green has a lot of components and you can do one, two or all of them depending on your commitment level to a green life style.
The energy audit and alternative energy information I found on www.energy-freeenergy-energytips was amazing. Here I found out about everything that my neighbors had been discussing. My husband and I obtained a simple step by step energy audit system. We performed it in one weekend and made corrections over the next three weeks. Our energy bill dropped almost $200.00 a month and we had spent only $408.00 on all the energy saving tips from the audit.

Next we calculated our energy demand with a free energy calculator from the same website. This allowed us to decide on a magnetic-on-grid generator for electric and a solar panel for our gas hot water. (An interesting side story to the magnetic generator is that we had a power outage and while many homes in our area did not have power. We were able to enjoy our air conditioning and watch TV since our power was uninterrupted.) We spent another $720.00 for everything we needed to build both the generator and the solar power panel. Our gas bill is now $32.00 less per month and our electric bill is zero. That is a savings of over $7,000.00 a year for investing 6 weekends and $1,128.00.

I will never say that neighborhood gatherings are a pain again. I will be listening and participating in going green the next time with my own going green information. I wrote this article to hopefully reach others who may not know all of the things they can do to save big money and live a better life style. Remember www.energy-freeenergy-energytips.com for all of the information you need to go green. Last week our refrigerator went out so I checked the website and sure enough there was a page on energy star refrigerators and what to look for to make a great choice for energy and reliability. Have fun going green it is so great and saves far more then it costs.
