Westerns are pretty scarce these days. Lynch vows to remedy that situation. This was a major motivation for Lynch to write Apache Sunset. He has no doubt that the American reading public still loves a good western and intends to prove it. Lynch wants to reintroduce American readers to the western. He is disturbed that an entire generation of American youth may never have read a western novel.

Apache Sunset is a traditional western. Set in 1874 Arizona, it tells the story of a man caught up in the conflict between the Apache Indians and the U.S. cavalry. The book contains all the essential elements readers look for in a western such as strong characters, lots of action and the traditional battle between good and evil.
