Governor appoints Fort Worth attorney to state council

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 26, 2011 -- Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Decker Jones shareholder Patricia B Cole to the Family and Protective Services Council for a term that expires Feb. 1, 2017.

The council assists the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in developing rules and policies to protect children, the elderly and individuals who have disabilities from abuse, neglect and exploitation.

"I am honored that Gov. Perry has entrusted me with such an important position,” Cole said. “I look forward to the next six years and playing a significant role in helping to protect the children, the elderly and individuals with disabilities throughout Texas.”

Cole’s areas of practice focus on Probate Litigation, Estate Planning, Business Litigation and Corporate Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Probate Bar, Texas Guardianship Association and a Fellow of the Tarrant County Bar Foundation.
Her community activities are numerous. She is a board member of Clark Educational Services Inc., and a volunteer for Fort Worth Habitat for Humanity, Lena Pope Home, Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Greater Fort Worth Humane Society.

Cole received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

In addition to her law practice, Cole is co-owner of Lone Star Bavarian, Inc., a BMW, Mercedes and Mini service facility.

Also named to the council were Anna Jimenez of Corpus Christi and Benny Morris of Cleburne.
