FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 3, 2012 --
ROMEOVILLE, ILL – February 3, 2012 – Illinois Governor Pat Quinn recognized the electronics recycling company Vintage Tech and their president Karrie Gibson in his speech, “State of the State: Moving Illinois Forward” on Feb. 1.
“Illinois is not only a land of skilled workers,” explained Quinn, “It's also a land of creative entrepreneurs. People like Karrie Gibson and her company, Vintage Tech Recyclers in Romeoville.”
“We have invested in our state, making it a better place to do business,” Quinn stated. As a result of this, the governor explained, “Our investment helped Karrie grow her recycling technology business from 1 person to 77 employees. Thank you, Karrie.”
Earlier in his speech, Quinn reminded the State, “On the day I became Governor three years ago, I promised to restore integrity to Illinois government. And we have.”
In fact, this year, thanks to the new Illinois landfill ban on electronics, the government has acknowledged Vintage Tech’s mission by making sure that electronics are responsibly recycled. Because electronics can leak toxic materials into the environment, the landfill ban requires these products to be disposed of responsibly at designated recycling locations.
Vintage Tech, a certified electronics recycler, has provided multiple recycling drop-off locations throughout Illinois, making it easy for community members to recycle items like old laptops, DVD players, or printers. This service, which in some counties includes an at-your-door pickup service, is free of charge.
