GPS helps Flyerettes track new business
"we can guarantee that our leaflets have been delivered thanks to GPS technology"
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) May 20, 2011 --
An entrepreneur who 18 months ago worked on the shop floor of a leading national store is celebrating the growth of his business with new premises and the use of state of the art technology to keep him one step ahead of his competitors.
Jonathan Graves formed Flyerettes, a leaflet distribution and outdoor marketing firm in Newcastle after realising that his business potential was not being harnessed working for a major store chain. Starting from his home, he quickly discovered that the rapid expansion of the business meant that he needed to source new premises. The result is a 1250 square feet distribution centre he found underneath the arches of Newcastle’s famous King Edward Bridge which is able to store more than half a million leaflets.
The expansion has also led to additional staff being taken on to cope with the increase in businesses wanting to advertise their products in a very traditional way by using leaflets delivered door to door.
The way that the leaflets are delivered is far from traditional however. Jonathan has heavily invested in GPS tracking devices which are worn by his uniformed staff so that he is able to both ensure his teams safety on the streets and also that the leaflets are delivered as required by his clients.
Jonathan believes that Flyerettes are the only leaflet distribution company in the North of England that tracks the movement of the leaflets being carried and not the vans. “We can view leaflet movements right down to street level so that we can guarantee that the leaflet has been delivered to a particular door and we can also minimise risks to our staff using the network of GPS signals. There is even a panic button for added security,” he said.
Merseyside born, Jonathan came to Newcastle to study law at the University and hasn’t looked back since. The business has suddenly grown and now as well as local businesses he is taking on work for large national companies including slimming organisations, political parties and food outlets. Jonathan estimates that Flyerettes is now delivering around 115,000 leaflets to 30,000 doors per week in Tyneside, Wearside and parts of Northumberland.
Jonathan is currently recruiting and is looking to take on a further eight staff in the next two months effectively doubling his workforce. ENDS
