(Free-Press-Release.com) August 11, 2011 -- Hong Kong, 11 Aug, 2011 - Hong Kong’s GR8 Leisure Concept Limited (GR8) has long been one of Asia’s most vibrant and innovative hospitality groups. The Group continues to invest in talents to maintain its position at the forefront of the region’s fast-growing tourism and business travel industry. We are pleased to announce the new executive appointments of Angie Palmer and Pansy Chan.

Having lived and worked in different countries, Angie Palmer brings a unique background and wealth of experiences to her new position at GR8. Angie serves as the Director of Branding and Communications, being responsible to continue building the brands of the group and bringing unique experiences to the increasingly sophisticated markets in Asia. Specializing in relationship building and online marketing, Angie is combining her years of experiences in the hospitality sector and public relations industry with her astute level of cultural awareness to establish a presence for the group in the world. Another new team member, Pansy Chan, is also well-traveled and well-versed in the hospitality industry. Pansy was appointed as the Director of Human Resources & Training, a new position added by GR8. She will head the human resources function to develop and nourish the most important asset – people – in the group. She is responsible for overseeing and structuring the human resources policies for all the brands under the corporate umbrella.

Angie moved from the United States to Hong Kong in July and is happy to call it home. She managed a public relations firm with a focus on the performing arts and hospitality communities in Columbus, Ohio before accepting this new challenge. She is a sought-after public relations practitioner known for bringing positive attitude to any projects and thinking outside the box with limited resources. She had been an active and productive member in the United States having served on the boards of the Film Council of Greater Columbus, Community Shares of Mid Ohio, Newark Advocate Editorial Board, International Space Hall of Fame Foundation, among other notable non-profit and business organizations. Besides her community involvement, her academic and professional achievements had also been recognized by the American media. Angie was named one of the honorees of the Forty Under 40 by Business First in Columbus in 2010. She also taught bachelor’s and master’s programs on Internet marketing, social media marketing, media and technology at Franklin University in Ohio.

Being a believer in lifelong learning, she had also earned a master’s degree in the United States and is currently at the dissertation stage of her PhD. In addition, Angie writes and speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Japanese.

Pansy has more than two decades of experiences in the hotel and restaurant industry, with particular focus on food and beverage operations management and hotel staff training in Asia and the United States. Having worked as an operations staff, she was able to combine the insights and perspectives from the frontline and management employees to design and deliver effective classes including quality customer service, executive table manners and wine etiquette. Prior to joining the group, she was the Associate Director – Human Resources at the Venetian Macao Resort-Resort-Hotel and had also worked with a variety of global brands including the Sino Hotel Group and InterContinental Hotels Group in Hong Kong, Fulleton in Singapore, Bankers Club in Shanghai, Marriott in New York City and Novotel in New Jersey.
