Cumberland Chrysler Center is pleased to announce that it offers the award-winning Grand Caravan to customers. The Grand Caravan was recently named Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) 2012 Top Safety Pick. The minivan, which comes in Express, Mainstreet, Crew, and R/T trims, has been recognized for its innovative safety features with this award.
Standard on all the Grand Caravan trims is Electronic Stability Control. This stability feature helps the minivan maneuver in tight steering situations. It also assists in maintaining control. Electronic Stability Control actually senses wheel slippage and reacts automatically to keep everyone on board safe.
Also standard on all Grand Caravan trims is a tire-pressure monitoring system. This monitoring system is displayed on the instrument panel and informs drivers of the amount of pressure each tire has. By paying attention to the tire-pressure monitoring system, drivers can avoid running into flat tires.
The Grand Caravan also sports the Parkview Rear Backup Camera, standard on the Crew and R/T and available on the Mainstreet, gives drivers a view of what is directly behind the minivan. Instead of worrying about small children or objects that could be hit behind the vehicle, the Parkview Rear Backup Camera eliminates these fears by displaying everything in the back.
Another feature on the Grand Caravan is the Parksense rear park assist system. This system, available on the Crew and R/T, uses sound waves to measure just how far away the minivan is from other vehicles and objects when parking. An audio warning sounds, when activated by the driver, to help determine how far the minivan is from other objects. Also, a visual warning is shown in an overhead display, in the rear of the vehicle, to show the proximity the vehicle is to stationary objects.
