The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 houses a 6.4 liter Hemi V8 engine, with five speed automatic transmission and 465 horsepower. This powertrain is an improvement compared to the last generation SRT8, which featured a 6.1 liter Hemi V8 with 421420 horsepower. Chrysler used Fuel Saver Technology on the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8 to improve fuel efficiency by 13 percent compared to the last generation model. Official fuel economy ratings have not been released for the 2012 SRT8, but the 2010 model was rated at 12 miles per gallon in the city and 16 miles per gallon on the highway.
