Grassroots campaigne against CBC

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 16, 2011 -- A grass roots campaign has begun to examine the CBC, and in particular, to expose the way this powerful media giant exploits its power, denies the public access to key records and wastes our hard earned tax money.

This publically funded broadcaster receives enormous revenues from advertising and cable/satellite fess, enough to make the private broadcasters such as Shaw/Global and CTV, profitable, however, that is not enough for the greedy CBC execs who require taxpayers to subsidize them to the tune of one billion two hundred million dollars every year. Complaints persist about the CBC’s ‘objective’ news and information content; there are chronic concerns of ongoing bias of the news and suspicious journalistic policies exploited to attack anyone they don’t like. Many fear coming forward to talk about their complaints or to provide inside information for fear of severe retribution from the CBC executives.
We submit that the CBC is out of control, in performance and in wasting our money. We believe that it’s time for effective accountability at the CBC. That it’s time to stop the huge subsidy from ‘we the taxpayers’ and instead use that one billion plus dollars wasted every year at the CBC for important needs such as health care, education, perhaps even some tax relief for the little taxpayer?
