Great Pyrenees - Working Livestock Guard Dogs in the Making

Born on a cattle ranch in South Texas around Christmas 2010, four beautiful Great Pyrenees puppies were born to work! Mama Molly and Dad Max produced a beautiful litter of all white working livestock guard dog puppies. The puppies are purebred, but not registered because they are only for working livestock ranches, not for show. The pups are nose to nose with sheep and goats at my ranch and, while they are as cute as can be, they have to be left to learn their job. They will be socialized to an extent, but moreso with their herd of sheep and goats. The pups are in training, meaning they are in a huge corral next to the goats and sheep while they all get to know one another. The puppies are allowed to free feed, so they are more interested in their herd and flock than where their next meal is coming from. Great Pyrenees make wonderful working livestock guardian dogs. They are devoted to their flock, herd, home and family. These are not apartment or house pets. Too many are sold into pet situations and then end up in rescue or dumped on the side of the road when the dogs show their natural instincts or become too big for apartments or houses, not to mention the huge coat they can develop.
