San Francisco, California Jan 15, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- GreenLeafMedical.org, Inc. (NASDAQ:GLMD) today announced the open enrollment dates for The Co-Op Medicine Club designed to totally eliminate the high cost of medicinal marijuana for the nearly One Million registered Cannabis patients in California and 12 other states.

Some, if not most cannabis patients spend an average of approximately $300 to $600 per month for their medicinal marijuana. Most if not all funded solely by the patient.

The Co-Op Medicine Club will fill the gap left by traditional Medical Insurance companies which have been reluctant to help cannabis patients pay for their medicinal marijuana.

A spokesperson for Green Leaf Medical said demand for its product is expected to be extremely high considering the ‘Low Price Point’ - $5 a month - and the number of patients eligible.

Green Leaf estimates there are roughly 500,000 eligible cannabis patients in California alone.

Green Leaf say’s it will beta test a small group of Charter Members during the initial trial roll-out in California during the month of February.

After we have worked out any last minute software issues, we will begin a full scale roll-out in California and the 12 remaining states that allow medicinal Marijuana use, which includes Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Nevada, Colorado, Rhode Island, Maine, New Mexico, Vermont, Montana, Alaska and Michigan.

The number of registered cannabis patients in the 13 states combined is roughly One Million.
