(Free-Press-Release.com) January 29, 2010 -- Senator Loren Legarda proclaimed her vice presidential bid to be a “green platform of governance” that will wage a humanitarian campaign for lasting peace, economic recovery, and environmental protection.
“Our problems are varied and grave and we also must grapple with Climate Change, with its threat to lives and properties, our agriculture, industries, and our economy,” Loren noted.
She also stated that her partnership with Senator presidentiable Manny Villar truly represents the majority of the poor countrymen, and that the people’s most important fight is about to bring meaningful change.
The lady senator adds that she would continue working for effective governance, without which, there would be no honest-to-goodness delivery of public

service .
“To free our people from the shackles of poverty, we must first ensure an effective, corruption-free government,” said Loren, the Nationalist Peoples' Coalition (NPC) VP bet who had been invited by Senator Villar, the Nacionalista Party (NP) presidential standard-bearer, as his running mate.
Loren also emphasized the need for the next administration to protect the rights and welfare of OFWs, and push for the resumption of the peace process with rebel groups.
“Whoever said that heroism is long gone is mistaken, proven wrong by the many Filipinos who rose up to the challenge of typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng and Santi, including a number who gave up their lives so others may live,” she said.
The Villar-Legarda team held a sea-of-orange

proclamation rally at Plaza Moriones in Tondo, Manila on Sunday evening where they pointed out the framework of their platform; The NP-NPC tandem also introduced their senatorial line-up.
Legarda also expressed the need to uplift the cultural heritage by drawing inspiration on the talents of boxing god Manny Pacquiao, Tony Awardee Lea Salonga, Youtube diva Charice Pempengco, and CNN hero Efren Peñaflorida, Jr.
“Bagaman malaking karangalan ang dala ng mga Pilipinong ito sa ating bansa, ako po ay nangangarap na sana naman ang Pilipino muling makilala, hindi sa galing ng iilan, kundi sa kadakilaan natin bilang lahi,” said Loren, author and co-author of 291 bills and 124 resolutions, such as the Climate Change Act of 2009 and Anti-Violence Against Woman and Children Act .
