The mid 80's music style born in Seattle, Grunge, is back!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 23, 2009 -- Let's travel back on time where it all began... Let's go to the mid 80's.
When the record companies were still the main power of the music industry, the vinyl LP's were still coveted by the popular fans world-wide.
Metal and Hard-rock were hitting their peak but nothing was revolutionary.
The world seemed to be perfectly in balance with the musical forces of the universe.

That is except for Seattle, WA; something very strange was happening. A mass of bands with very distinct sounds, descendents mainly from Metal, Hard-Rock and Punk, were gaining space and awareness.

The independent label Subpop signs Nirvana, with the album BLEACH, which got Nirvana onto a Major Label. In the mean time, bands such as: Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Screeming Trees and others were also breaking big deals with other labels, and spreading the Grunge genre all around the globe.

In 1991, Nirvana releases the sophomore album NEVERMIND, which hit big on Billboard. From this moment on Grunge was officially baptized and fans had an array of bands to choose, listen and love. This moment in the music history was ultra important, it set up the existing commercial value for all Alternative Rock.

Late 90's and Grunge was gaining force with the birth of the Post-Grunge. The Post-Grunge brought to the scene many bands, such as Candlebox, Bush...
Everything was pumping until Kurt Cobain's death in 1994. Some bands started disappearing, and breaking apart for several reasons... The beginning of the end was emerging from nowhere. Many people then, promoted the famous sentence:
Grunge is dead

Today, there are a number of post-1990s bands still thriving commercially in this genre, including Silverchair, Candlebox, Greenspoon, Collective Soul, Matchbox Twenty, Three Days Grace, Foo Fighters, Breaking Benjamin, Creed, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down, Hoobastank, Seether and SoulsilenS.

The story could have ended here... if not for the resurgence!

Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Creed, Silverchair and SoulsilenS are making their contributions for the resurrection day.
The day Grunge immerges from the ocean of the dead genres.

On the next issue we'll see more about the grunge bands and the new albums released by the godfathers of Grunge.
