FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
East Haven, Connecticut, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 1, 2011 -- Guida’s Milk, one of the few remaining family-owned independent dairies in the state of CT, is donating approximately 4,000 gallons of Guida’s Spring Water to the Connecticut Food Bank in order to assist local CT residents affected most by the devastating results of Hurricane Irene.

Guida’s Milk will deliver a full trailer of spring water to the Connecticut Food Bank in East Haven tomorrow, September 1st, 2011 to assist CT residents who have been without power and water. “We are trying to do our part as a local company to help our local community.” says Michael Guida, the President of Guida’s Milk. Guida’s Milk encourages other local companies to do what they can to help as well.

This is not the first natural disaster where Guida’s Supercow has come to the rescue. Guida’s Milk recently donated a portion of their milk sales profits to the victims of the recent tornado, which hit the northern CT and MA border. The local 125yr old family owned company has earned an excellent reputation in both their local community and throughout the state of CT by being a strong supporter of the local community and charitable events in their 125yrs of business. Guida’s mascot, Supercow, truly is a superhero!

For more information on how you can help CT local residents who have been impacted by Hurricane Irene, you may go to the Connecticut Food Bank website at www.ctfoodbank.org. The Connecticut Food Bank website has launched a Hurricane Irene Virtual Food Drive where you can purchase food online for the hurricane victims. Janet Kniffin, the Chief Development Officer at Connecticut Food Bank, said they anticipate their biggest draw next week. They have a high demand for relief supplies and non-perishable items such as tuna, peanut butter, granola bars and canned fruit.
