Guido Bertucci Launched The UN e-Government Readiness Report

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 19, 2012 -- Guido Bertucci, was responsible for the launch of the “UN e-Government Readiness Report”, a yearly publication, which has become a highly popular tool for benchmarking e-Government development. He also launched the annual “Compendium of Innovative e-Government Practices”. He is considered a world renowned expert in methodologies for benchmarking e-government. In addition he has been responsible for directing and writing a number of publications on a wide spectrum of subjects related to public policy, governance and public administration and civil service.

Currently serving as the Executive Director of “Governance Solutions International”, he led the United Nations Programme on Public Administration, Finance and Development from 1993 until 2008. He has been responsible for advocacy activities in governance and public administration at the global level, and for promoting high-level intergovernmental discussions and consensus on public policy, as well as governance for sustainable development.

Guido Bertucci pursued Doctoral studies in Public Administration and Management at University of Warsaw, Poland, Faculty of Law and Administration, from 1972 – 1975. He holds a degree in Political Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Administrative Sciences from the Catholic University of Milan . He was also conferred several other honorary doctorate degrees by prestigious institutions.

In addition, Guido Bertucci has gained recognition for his writings, delivering lectures and for organizing meetings on a vast range of topics including democratic governance, civil service reform, leadership, innovation in government and public administration, e-government, decentralization, economic and social governance, ethics and integrity. He was responsible for the conceptualization and the organization of the “Global Forum on Reinventing Government” which took place in Vienna, Austria in 2007. The Forum was the most renowned gathering of Heads of State, Ministers, experts and practitioners from around the world to discuss innovation in government.
