FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 8, 2009 --
The Gulf War Anthology of Poetry is a book of poetry that has twenty-one poems with accompanied illustrations. The Gulf War Veteran has been having many difficulties in getting authorization for bookstores to give him an opportunity to sign books even though Simmons's books have surpassed the 1000 copy mark. Greenwood, SC has answered the call with a booksigning to be held at Waldenbooks on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 2 PM until 4 PM.
Simmons has donated in the past some of his book sales to the National Gulf War Resource Center, Alston Wilkes Veterans Homeless Shelter, Oliver Gospel Mission, National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, and more to come... Simmons would like to give more, but self-publishing is not easy, but a learning and challenging experience. Simmons believes that to much is given, much is required even if you have a little of something on-hand or in reserves.
About the Book:
This book is the first poetic account of the "Gulf War" by the Lieutenant who served in the 251st Evacuation Hospital of Columbia, South Carolina. Lieutenant Simmons performed his duty as an Evacuation Officer of the US and Coalition Forces. After the war end, Lieutenant Simmons was given the direct responsibility of medical disposition of the EPOWs or Enemy Prisoners of War (Iraqis). Thus far, he is still denied compensation from the VA of South Carolina even though he became ill in Saudi Arabia and his health worsened.
Lieutenant Simmons continues to fight for the rights of Gulf War Vets and other Vets who have served this Great Nation. It is the responsibility of our Government to provide medical and compensation to our Vets...
