Gulliver Expeditions is opening new tours for 2012!
Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.gulliver.com.ec Ecuador offers some really exciting mountain biking trails for both beginners and experienced bikers. A great choice for all levels is that of the slopes of Cotopaxi. Starting at the highest car park (4500m), and heading down towards Laguna Limpiopungo, the gravel-track ride offers an exciting downhill experience! To really experience Ecuador by bike, consider joining a multi-day ride. One such itinerary now on offer starts and ends in Quito, with riders making their way through Mindo cloud forest, the avenue of the volcanoes (including Pichincha, Ruminaui and Cotopaxi), Quilotoa crater lake and Baños spa town – gateway to the Amazon! With rides of up 60km per day over the course of a week, the trip makes for an excellent experience for keen mountain bikers as well as those simply looking for an adventurous challenge during their time in one of South America’s true gems -Ecuador!
One of the new biking tours of Gulliver Expeditions for 2012 is the “Quilotoa – Chugchilan biking 1 day” tour. This biking tour starts in Laguna Quilotoa – an amazing emerald lagoon inside a volcano crater at the height of 3,800m, displays a beautiful view of the Andean mountains, passing the ancient canyon of Zumbahua and many indigenous towns and farmlands. The tour includes an exciting drive around the lagoon and all the small communities around this area.
Another new biking tour to explore Ecuador is the “Pululahua biking 1 day” tour, which starts at the Pululahua Crater at 3,360m. This area enjoys a pleasantly fresh climate similar to that of the Andean valleys, due to its location between mountains. Nevertheless, during the afternoon this area completely clouds over, which makes it the perfect spot from which to embark on a biking tour.
One further new biking tour takes 2 days and is called “Nono-Mindo bikes 2 days”. The Nono-Mindo trail is very popular for both bird lovers and for adventurous types, since it combines both of these in one program. The tour goes from a wonderful cloud forest through the enormous Tandayapa canyon, leaving behind the beautiful Pichincha. The biking tour itself starts from Nono where you can enjoy 25km of downhill biking before starting the next 10km ascent to Bellavista. After working hard to reach the final slope the tour goes on for 1.5km until Mindo. The second day starts in Mindo The Valley of Mindo is part of the protected 48,000 acre Mindo Nambillo Reserve and you can enjoy different activities.
Gulliver Expeditions is one of a small handful of ground handlers in Ecuador operating their own adventure tourism products such as mountain biking, hiking, climbing and horseback riding. They own a 13-bedroom hacienda in the Avenue of the Volcanoes, PapaGayo, from where their tours are based, but also act as an in-coming agent, organizing tailor-made itineraries covering the whole of Ecuador and the Galapagos from backpacker standard right up to luxury 5 star itineraries. More details can be found on their website www.gulliver.com.ec
