The Huairasinchi adventure race appeared in the year 2003, as an initiative of a group of athletes who were looking for a new way of getting to know their country. During the race you will discover hidden places of Ecuador and furthermore the race promotes the protection and respect for nature.

Huairasinchi is kichwa and means “the strength of the wind”. The main idea of the adventure race is to do kayak paddling, orienteering, mountain biking, fixed ropes and trail running or trekking over a distance of 380 km (elite category) or 180 km with stops at night (adventure category). The entry fee is $1.700.

Gulliver Expeditions will support a film crew from Australia who will film the best four teams of this race with all the logistics and the racing teams with acclimatization programs. They will meet at their Hostería Papagayo on February 15th to take them with their bicycles to the Cotopaxi and support the film crew during the whole race.
