Habitat for Humanity of Detroit and Vintage Tech offer consumer electronics recycling program

DETROIT – Habitat for Humanity of Detroit, Mich. and Vintage Tech have established a consumer electronics recycling program at the affiliate’s ReStore location in Detroit.

Vintage Tech, an approved electronics recycler and member of the Michigan Recycling Coalition, provides a collection trailer and processes recycled electronics in accordance with Federal and State regulations. Computer hard drives will be wiped clean.

Consumers may take electronic products to the Habitat for Humanity Detroit ReStore during normal business hours Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no charge to consumers for this service.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are home improvement thrift stores that are open to the public. All proceeds from the ReStores go towards local Habitat home building and renovation programs. Part of the ReStore mission is to reduce the amount of reusable materials that go to community landfills. The partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Detroit and Vintage Tech works toward that goal.
