Santa Rosa, CA – Small Givings, LLC has announced teaming with Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County to help expand that organization’s fundraising reach. Small Givings will implement a special fundraising program through the Small Givings program called Featured Good Cause.
Mr. Chris Lamela, business leader with Small Givings explains, “We reached out to the Habitat for Humanity national organization and were directed to this local chapter. Habitat is organized in such a way that the local chapters are chartered to manage their fundraising, and the work that the Sonoma County (California) chapter is doing deserves stronger community support.”
The Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County chapter is sponsoring a number of initiatives including the Women Build program that engages women to learn construction trade skills to contribute to Habitat’s building programs. Other building programs include Green Build, Faith Build which partners with churches, and Youth Build to train young volunteers to be contributors to the organization’s building programs. Jeanette Tan of Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County states it simply, “This is a win-win.”
Mr. Lamela talks about the initial Habitat fundraising program. “While Small Givings has the ability to solicit giving for different campaigns, we decided to start simple and offer a general fund donation program to start. Once we understand Habitat of Sonoma County’s needs better, then we can expand to include donations for specific programs like the Women Build program. There really is no limit to ways we can help this wonderful organization.”
Small Givings, founded in 2009, makes fundraising simple for non-profits and other community-centered organizations. The company promotes smaller regular automatic payments with strong emphasis on the donor experience to encourage generosity. Those features include donor anonymity and donor self-management of their donations. Small Givings distribution is primarily through home-based representatives and Internet affiliates.
