Hackensack BMW dealer must wait a little longer for the release of the 2012 BMW X1

As the 2012 BMW X1 hit the Canadian marketplace earlier this month, American drivers have become concerned about when the sleek new crossover will hit the American market and why the delay has occurred. The X1, which is a deluxe compact sport utility vehicle that shares more similarities with the 3 series sedan than a conventional off-road SUV, was released with much more popularity than BMW expected. With over 115,000 cars being sold worldwide since the X1’s release, BMW has scrambled to meet the surprisingly high demand level. As demand continues to soar above supply, BMW executives are struggling to determine an exact release date for the popular new model in the United States.

Canada was able to release the new X1 earlier this month because the volume of consumption is much lower than in the U.S. While the North American release of the X1 is certainly a positive step, local Hackensack BMW dealers are expected to have to wait until the upcoming fall for supply to catch the increasing demand and for the X1 to be released in the U.S. Until then, drivers in the market for a BMW compact sport utility vehicle should continue to consider the BMW X3 in Englewood. BMW executives are not worried about the delayed release of the X1 primarily because the newly released X3 crossover is expected to be a higher volume seller than the X1.

Among the changes made to the new X1 is that it has a 2.0 four cylinder engine that provides 245 horsepower. This improvement gives the X1 a considerable torque boost over the previous six cylinder engine while also reducing emissions and fuel consumption. The new engine doesn’t vibrate like a typical four cylinder because it is outfitted with two balance shafts, positioned at different heights, to offset vibrations.
