Haiti Orphanage Rescue Effort Coordinated by Private Jet Leader New Flight Charters

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 20, 2010 -- JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. – U.S.-based jet charter company, New Flight Charters, arranges private jet relief mission and evacuates orphans in Haiti relief effort. The company coordinated a Challenger 300 super-midsize private jet filled with two doctors, medicine, water purifiers and other necessities for delivery to the three Foyer-de-Sion Orphanages in Port-au-Prince. The luxury jet then, with U.S. State Department approval, evacuated ten orphans to the U.S. for the Morrell Family Charities organization based in Utah.

The January 19 flight from Orlando, Florida, arrived to the Dominican Republic since the Port-au-Prince airport was closed to civilian aircraft. The load was transferred to helicopters and SUVs for delivery to the Port-au-Prince orphanages. Soldiers and armed personnel helped protect the cargo and transfers to the orphanages since their prior-existing supplies had been ransacked in post-earthquake looting. Ten orphans were then flown by helicopters to the waiting private jet and evacuated to Miami where they met their newly adoptive families arranged by Morrell Family Charities.

“This was a terrific opportunity for us to help the hundreds of children at the Port-au-Prince orphanages and bring some back to the U.S., and we are thrilled,” said Rick Colson, New Flight Charters’ president. “The donation of resources from all parties in this relief & rescue mission for the orphanage and charity has been amazing.”

The private jet is owned by M&N Aviation out of Casper, Wyoming, whose considerable assistance on cost made the mission possible. The Challenger 300 private jet is a luxury aircraft with executive leather interior, galley, private lavatory, and state-of-the-art amenities. It is manufactured by Bombardier, Inc.

Kym Rambo, a Charter Manager for New Flight Charters, led the coordination effort and managed the private jet charter relief and rescue flights to Port-au-Prince, including aircraft, cargo, passengers and itinerary logistics. “It has been fulfilling to help make a tangible and meaningful difference in this tragedy,” said Kym, “I have two school-age children and managing this rescue mission to the orphanages really hits home.”
