Currently, the coalition of nurses, doctors, respiratory and medical technologist and other healthcare workers are not all local, but work in medical centers throughout the United States. They recognize and continue to provide medical & education support needed in Haiti and other parts of the world, including the U.S.

The coalition’s goal is to provide medical care as guest of the University Henri Roi Christophe where they plan to set up a permanent clinic that has been donated by one of their network partners and assist with the ongoing staffing of this clinic to provide medical care in the area of Cap Haitien, Haiti.

IMAN's founder states the current need of the group are medical staff with backgrounds in maternal and child health: Neonatologist, Pediatricians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and anyone interested in developing a public health delivery system.

The coalition efforts continue as they gather specific medical supplies and equipment which will be transported to that area. “Immediate needs are to provide a water filtration system for the planned Noisin Family University Clinic and train the local Haitians how to maintain this equipment with assistance of Medical Angels Network for long term support to assure its success and enhance development of a self-sustaining healthcare infrastructure to those affected by the Haiti earthquake who have returned to the area, " said Sherry Sterling, RN Founder , "Long-term plans include assisting in the development of a healthcare infrastructure to provide public medical care and education provided to Haitians by Haitians supported by Medical Angels –what a network!," added Sterling.

While the organization is still in need of additional medical professionals to travel to Haiti for short and long-term assistance, there are special needs in Obstetrics/Gynecologist, Pediatricians, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine and Health Science University partners interested in the establishment of distance learning programs and providing visiting professors in Nursing, Agriculture, and Physician Assistance training.

IMAN's request for donated supplies needed include latex gloves (sterile/non sterile), small sized portable generators, pediatric supplies (diapers, oral hydration); hand sanitizer, electronic blood pressure cuffs and delivery trays, ready to feed formula (no mixing required) , large surface - antibacterial wipes, and baby wipes and disposable blankets. All supplies donated should be in original package or in see through plastic.
