Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc.(www.GAOTek.com) has released its handheld optical light source offering high accuracy and reliability for evaluating a wide range of optical devices and systems including WNM. It is commonly used for the maintenance of telecommunication networks, CATV systems, fiber optic test labs, and generic cabling systems (GCS). This high performance light source is also ideal for the manufacture, testing and maintenance of passive optical components.
This easy-to-use optical light source, model 5202, provides a highly stable output power using PF-LD emitters. It provides stable output wavelengths including 650nm red source, 1310/1550nm for single mode fiber and 850/1300nm for multimode fiber. The compact light source modulation frequencies include CW, 270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. In addition, it can be used in conjunction with other types of test equipment such as power meters and fiber identifiers to test fiber optic cables.
