Two Prague cinemas will be offering special movie screenings during the Days of European Film Festival.

United Kingdom of Great Britain & N. Ireland -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Mar 18, 2010 -- The Days of European Film Festival will return to the Czech Republic next month, offering people staying in Prague hotels an eight-day schedule of screenings and special events.

Running from April 15th to 22nd, the festival will be based at the Czech capital's Svetozor and Lucerna cinemas.

The aim of the event is to showcase some of the best films from around Europe, with 38 movies featuring in this year's programme.

Soul Kitchen, the 2009 comedy by celebrated German film-maker Fatih Akin, is set to open the festival at Cinema Svetozor on Thursday April 15th.

Other films in the schedule include This is England by Shane Meadows, Michael Haneke's White Ribbon and A Prophet, the acclaimed French film directed by Jacques Audiard.

According to a spokesperson for the festival, 25 different countries are represented in the selections, which will be screened in their original versions with Czech subtitles.

"We have tried to choose films that could potentially address the Czech audience and that are at the same time representative for their countries of origin," she explained.

Film tickets for the festival showings are priced at 90 Czech koruna (£3.10).

After the final screening in Prague, the festival will move on to Brno from April 23rd to 29th.
