New book released on the healing secrets and benefits of the Amazon Rainforest.
The new Amazon Kindle book œHealing Secrets of the Amazon Rainforest: An Herb for Every Ailment was released this week by AP Award-winning author Nicholas J. Meyer, his fourth book for the popular electronic reading platform.
The book focuses on the health benefits of various little known herbs and supplements from the Amazon Rainforest, a place where the world's most potent medicinal plants grow and thrive.
In the book, he interviews a nutritionist who spent months traveling the rainforest and living among tribes and natives, teaching them to discover their native natural medicines and how to utilize their unparalleled benefits.
According to the nutritionist, hundreds of pharmaceutical company reps can be found at any given time in the region, researching new possible plant compounds so that they can be turned into synthetic drugs. A large chunk of all drugs in Western medicine have their origins in the Rainforest, but as Meyer points out, people may be able skip the middle man and tap into the natural healing potential of the rainforest on their own without having to take drugs with debilitating and potentially dangerous side effects. Information about the top herbs and their traditional uses are included in the book, which was officially launched on Wednesday, January 16.
Previous releases by Meyer have hit the top spot in various categories on Amazon within the realm of holistic and natural health. Meyer won an AP Award with the Detroit Free Press earlier in his writing career and recently founded the website www.AltHealthWORKS.com, which has nearly 5,000 active and engaged Facebook followers who enjoy discussing natural and alternative health.
Meyer's work has been cited by Dr. Joseph Mercola or the top natural health website, Mercola.com, and the Cornucopia Institute among others.
