Heartland Chevy Dealers Offering College Scholarship

Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 10, 2012 -- Lake Motor Company is proud to participate in the second annual Chevy Scholar Scholarship program, carried out by West Dakota and Heartland Chevy dealers. A total of four Chevy Scholar Scholarships will be handed out to high school students from either North Dakota or Minnesota. Each of these winners will receive $5,000 in support of their future higher education pursuits.

In order to qualify for the Chevy Scholarship, students must either nominate themselves or have another member of their community nominate them, whether it is a parent, teacher, or friend. Nominations should be based from the student’s academic accomplishments as well as their involvement in the local community. The nomination form can be found at http://www.chevyscholar.com/nominate/ or can be picked up from the Lake Motor Company showroom.

Nominations will be accepted until February 20, 2012. After this date, ten finalists will be chosen. The surrounding community can then either vote online or via text for their preferred student nominee. The four students who receive the most votes will be granted the $5,000 scholarship. In addition, one randomly chosen nominator will receive a $500 bonus.

Some rules apply for the Chevy Scholar Scholarship. Nominees must be a high school junior or senior and must attend school in North Dakota or Minnesota. Each nominee can only be entered into the contest once. Those who have immediate family members working for any of the participating Chevy dealers or take part in the supplying of the $5,000 prize are not eligible to enter. No purchase or payment is required to enter the contest.
