Shri.M.N.Thyagaraj, Officer, of Directorate of Enforcement, Bangalore is the only officer from the Directorate of Enforcement, amongst the 37 distinguished officers who were awarded the Presidential award for Specially Distinguished Record of Distinguished Record of Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic day in whole of India. Shri. M.N.Thyagaraj, is rated as the highly deserving recipient by his peers and seniors. He is an illustrious son of distinguished parents Shri. H.T.Naganna and Smt. Shantha. His father Padamshri Late Shri.H.T.Naganna, was a doyen of carnatic music (percussion instrument). Hailing from such a family Shri.M.N.Thyagaraj inherited qualities of integrity with humane service. He has served in various formations in Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax, DGCEI and Directorate of Enforcement with distinction and with absolute integrity. Always considered a deserving candidate for this highest honor /highest award a serving officer can receive. His selection has been hailed by all his colleagues and his senior officers who had occasion to work with him. Even many of those who were investigated by him endorse his capability of conducting thorough investigations with all humane considerations of no maltreatment. Sh. M. N. Thyagaraj is a role model for all the investigating officers for conducting investigations with due observance and respect for human rights.
