HEDAC DONATES ANTIRETROVIRAL TREATMENT FOR 3000 PEOPLE,
HIGHLIGHTING NEW WAY TO FUNDRAISE.
Toronto/New York – Help Eliminate Disease and Addiction Canada – [“HEDAC”], http://www.hedac.ca, is pleased to announce the signing of a momentous agency agreement with AID FOR AIDS International, http://www.aidforaids.org. This notable occasion marks the beginning of a new era for HEDAC, as it reaches beyond Canadian borders to support international donor initiatives. The strategic alliance between HEDAC and AID for AIDS International, whose mission is “committed to improving the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs) in developing countries”, will enhance HEDAC’s ability to increase its capacity of compassion and add another hemisphere to its compass of good works.
Thanks to this joint effort, not only will people suffering from HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa be receiving essential life-saving medicines, but victims who have been devastated by the Haitian earthquake with limited, if any, access to medicine, will also, finally, be given an opportunity to a healthier, prolonged life. HEDAC is proud to be partnered with AID for AIDS International in their joint effort to reach out to the Haitian community where, together, they will immeasurably effect rising and significant trans-border donations of essential life-saving medicines to people living with HIV and AIDS; a large part due to on-the-ground distributions channels AID for AIDS International currently has in place.
AID for AIDS International is led by executive director Jesus Aguais, who CNN has named a “Medical Marvel” and who is a visionary in the world of charity. Stephen Mortfield, director of HEDAC, along with Raymond Adelson, the strategic liaison between HEDAC and leading international charities, and Shy Kurtz, LLB, BCL, Charity Spokesperson and Chief Fundraising Consultant for HEDAC, spearhead this partnership. These devoted philanthropists have banned together in the first international collaboration of such great magnitude, the donation of antiretroviral treatments for 3000 people over one year plus 3 million doses of much needed antibiotics, to affect an emergency response to the Haitian AIDS crisis, since the earthquake.
These aforementioned medicines, which will be saving 3000+ lives in the coming year alone, will be directed to AID FOR AIDS International’s office in the Dominican Republic and will be used to provide treatment to those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. By the end of March 2010, it is expected that these antiretroviral meds will be in the hands of many suffering Haitian people. With no end in sight, medicines will also be distributed across the globe, with the help of additional AIDS for AIDS International ground operations, along with other affiliated not-for-profit partnerships, to other areas without access to life-saving HIV treatment.
HEDAC chose AID for AIDS International, not only for its outstanding reputation in the global community for innovative and groundbreaking distribution networks, but for its benevolent open and honest approach to saving lives. Their mission and goals are shared by HEDAC and together, without a doubt, a philanthropic phenomenal revolution will be born. Distribution will be tracked, traced, audited and reported, ensuring that medicines will be placed directly into the hands of the people in need. HEDAC looks forward to a long and beneficial collaboration with AID for AIDS International and plans to continue extending its efforts in other life-prolonging and life-saving partnerships.
From over 83,000 registered Canadian charities, this donation serves to highlight HEDAC’s rank as the number 2 charity in Canada. Highlighted in terms of how much of one’s donation actually goes to the cause, as per the Canada Revenue Agency’s public statistics, as was recently showcased in the January 2010 issue of MoneySense Magazine.
HEDAC is quickly gaining international acclaim for the unrivaled success of its hybrid fundraising techniques, colloquially referred to as “the new philanthropy”. By relying on proprietary methods that combine mathematic, legal, and economic principles, HEDAC has created a never-before-used and efficient model to fundraise that stimulates the local economy, while helping the world. By aligning interests of donors and charities, and by merging for-profit with not-for-profit economies, HEDAC is putting theory into practice, benefiting from the new-age economies created for the purposes of donation, rather than for the purposes of consumption.
