Heiress Celebrates 60-year Wedding Anniversary!

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 26, 2009 -- Bettie Carmack Montgomery, daughter of billionaire inventor Johnny Carmack and recent NolanGetty Award recipient, celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary on October 11, 2009. Bettie Carmack Montgomery is married to Grip Montgomery.

Friends introduced Grip and Bettie in 1947. At the time, Bettie was 14 and Grip was 16. When Grip saw Bettie, he told her she was as pretty as a daisy. From that day forward, Bettie was known to Grip only by the name, Daisy. Daisy's father, Johnny, created many inventions, but the invention that made him a billionaire is a part unknown to consumers that allows all machines to run continuously without the need for electricity.

Daisy's father, being a billionaire, wasn't so happy about his little girl marrying the son of a mercantile owner, but when Grip showed up to Bettie's house with daisies proclaiming his love for Bettie, Bettie's father allowed the two to attend the local dance.

Daisy and Grip danced all night and became inseparable. Bettie and Grip married on October 11, 1949. The two celebrated their 60th anniversary at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. Bettie and Grip, their 6 children and their spouses, their 18 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren attended the event.

When Bettie Carmack Montgomery was asked the secret to her long marriage, she responded: "Grip buys me daisies everyday and everyday I tell Grip that, with him in my life, the world is perfect."
