As we all make our walk thru this life we come into contact with many different souls on our journey. I would like to introduce you to one of the best souls I have had the good fortune to meet, and to have the honor to call friend. This is a story that looks thru the many layers of how Hollywood 's Healing Painter Metin Bereketli approached his social responsibility toward our Community and indeed the world. A remarkable journey from one side of the globe to the other touching people's lives with his art, his compassion and his dedication to helping others.

So many times we open the newspaper or turn on the TV and hear of acts of kindness and generosity, and yet we never get to actually see the person doing the giving. Well folks, I take the utmost pride in pointing out the intriguing and highly focused way Metin has used his God given talent for the good of others. How this special man made his way to America without even speaking the language and managed to captivate people with his magical healing art.

This story, Metin's story, is really the tale of how very simply someone can use their art to break down barriers and inspire others to open their hearts and reveal their humanity and goodness thru charitable giving.

When we look at Metin's story, we are looking thru a prism which shines the colors of love and compassion. He has given his precious gift of his art to over 100 charities and has always made the ultimate sacrifice one human can make for another, his time. In a world full of plastic, self-serving people, Metin has been a bright and shining beacon of selflessness and philanthropy thru his healing art. Art that has graced the hallowed halls of Sotheby's has also graced the walls of the Shriners Hospitals for Children's thanks to Metin's generosity.

When we watch Metin with the children from the AmeriFace / the cleft craniofacial advocates it's heartwarming and touching to see how his art makes the world a more beautiful place for these young damaged souls. How his art transcends the wounds and brings smiles to these children's faces is more precious than any diamonds or gold. When we look around our world and see so much pain and suffering it gives hope when we are given the privilege to witness such a man as Metin Bereketli, Hollywood 's Healing Painter.

We should all be so lucky as to leave such a legacy.

I for one will always consider myself fortunate to have known such a man as the Artist Metin.
