High Mountain Discount Camping supply went on a kayaking trip Friday 5/27 on the Hillsborough River. They went to Morris Bridge Park and went up stream to Dead River Park and back. The whole trip was about 7hrs. The trip was a nice getaway from the everyday business of running the store. The owner Mark Teague thought a nice relaxing trip on the Hillsborough River with fishing and photos would be great for everyone. They were able to see water birds, alligators, turtles, snakes, and an owl. They caught many fish. Mark feels that a trip outdoors is the best way to keep everybody happy and make High Mountain Discount Camping Supply a Great place to work. The day was a great day for the trip. Mark said,” When a day as nice as this one comes up sometimes, you just have to take advantage of it and you just can’t let work get in the way.” One person said, “He could not believe that they went on a kayaking trip and were being paid for going kayaking.” They stopped along the way, cooked hamburgers for lunch, and had something to drink, all supplied by High Mountain Discount Camping Supply. After they got back they all went and had a refreshing smoothie before saying goodbye and leaving for the long weekend. Mark has got many more trips planned for the store. Mark also said that everybody had caught up on orders and closing for the day did not affect the time it takes to get orders out, all orders placed on Friday would go out on Tuesday just like normal.
