High Performance Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR)

Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) is offering its high performance Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) which is commonly used to measure unit, connection or transmission loss and locate faults and breaks in optical fibers. This mini-OTDR is widely used in the manufacture, construction and maintenance of optical networks.

This high-performance mini-OTDR, model 6413, features a 1.6 m short event dead zone, 0.1 m sample resolution with 65 k sampling points, pulse widths ranging from 10 ns to 20,480 ns and a high dynamic range of 42 dB to 40 dB. It reads and writes files in Bellcore GR196 file format and offers a long identification range from 1.6 to 512 km. This small and rugged OTDR communicates with a computer through USB, serial or parallel interface. FC or UPC connectors are provided for selection. In addition, it has a large color LCD and also features ample memory for data storage.
