GLENDALE, Calif.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Accusys USA is demonstrating the ExaSAN Compact SAN storage solution at Larry Jordan’s FCP X Training Event in Burbank, California on July 12, 2011. The ExaSAN Compact Solution is a breakthrough in storage technology development, simple yet offering complete benefits that shared storage provides in a SAN. ExaSAN PCIexpress technology eliminates the overhead associated with protocol conversion required by Fibrechannel HBA’s, with the net result being faster data transfers at a lower cost compared to Fibrechannel FC HBA’s must convert PCIexpress protocol to Fibrechannel protocol on the transmitting end, then transfer data, then on the receiving end, convert from FC to PCIe, typically.

Developed by Accusys (www.accusys.com.tw), a worldwide leader in RAID storage technology, ExaSAN is built for high performance, cost-effective deployment of storage targeted for the video/film post production industry. ExaSAN provides a range of performance levels and storage capacities that scale to meet the needs of small to mid-sized organizations looking for cost-effective storage solutions that allow them to bid for work in various HD formats, both film and video.

With the Introduction of the new Lion OS (10.7) along with FCP X from Apple, the ExaSAN Compact SAN storage solution becomes an outstanding value performance proposition

According to Jon Chang, program manager for Accusys, “the introduction of FCP X and Mac OS Lion (10.7) could not have come at a better time users requiring high performance storage to complete their 2K, 4K, and other HD projects. With Xsan included as part of Lion, SAN management software is practically free, and Mac based post production shops can quickly get started with ExaSAN Compact.” Chang continued, “we are very happy to have been invited by Larry Jordan to participate in this event. FCP X users can move all media and content from the boot disk into ExaSAN storage for redundancy and performance, whether in SAN mode or direct attached mode.”
Accusys will make available to participants in Larry Jordan’s FCP X training event, a special ExaSAN Compact configuration consisting of a 4 port Compact switch, 4 PCIe2.0 HBAs and cables, and an 8bay RAID tower for $6999, which will be honored through August 2011.
