FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Detroit, Michigan, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 19, 2011 -- Hill Incorporated has really gotten into the holiday spirit this season! They have focused one entire month of their time fundraising for their 2011 Adopt-a-family. This season they have been working with the prestigious Oakland County Lighthouse Program with their Adopt-a-family program. This holiday season the company has adopted a family of four. This specific family has asked for help in a time of need due to the fact that the father (a local Detroit police officer) has been injured on the job and has been unable to work.

"It truly is an amazing program to work with. The volunteers are extremely generous in the time that they spend with us and helping the families, they create a magical holiday season. Truly reminds me of the holiday spirit "it is better to give than to receive." Explained Assistant Manager Amy Gibson.

Hill Incorporated coordinated a few different activities to help raise money to give this family a truly wonderful Christmas. Account manager Amanda House and Kirsten Kaufmann created a competitive dodge ball bracket tournament. Teams of 8 people were created to have some fun and raise some money for a great cause. The winners were presented with an engraved trophy.

Amy Gibson and Matthew Justice were also in charge of putting together a local bottle drive. Troy and Royal Oak residents were given the opportunity to give their empty bottles towards the Adopt-a-family. "It was very interesting to spend time with local residents who can give something so small like an empty bottle and really see how it adds up for a much larger cause." Matthew Justice explains during the returning process.

After all the fundraising was said and done, Hill Incorporated raised over $600 dollars for their adopt-a-family!!! Local companies also pitched in to help donate to the cause. The Kroger store of Birmingham MI donated a $50 Kroger gift card to go towards grocery shopping for the family.

Needless to say once all of the shopping was finished there was quite a pile of gifts under the tree including backpacks, clothing for the children, coats, shoes, banks, gift cards, games, and puzzles. For this Oakland County family they will be having a wonderful holiday season and Hill Incorporated would also like to take the opportunity to thank the father of the family for all of this hard work serving in his line of duty. The unspoken meaning of community is to support one another within a time of need.
