HIMSS Names Colonel Ralph Franco to Fellow Member Status
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), has named Colonel Ralph Franco to Fellow member status.

CHICAGO, July 1, 2010 - The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the premier association for leadership in the management of technology, information, and change in healthcare, has named Colonel Ralph Franco to Fellow member status.
Colonel Ralph Franco is Director, Total Army Medical Department Systems Management at the US Army Medical Department Center and School, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This office manages high-level systems requirements, risk assessments and Concepts of Operations for US Army Medical Department information systems.
"HIMSS congratulates our new Senior and Fellow members," said Steve Lieber, HIMSS President/CEO. "These members represent the top leaders driving today's important healthcare information and management systems initiatives."
HIMSS Senior Members must be a member of HIMSS for a minimum of three consecutive years, while Fellows must be members for a minimum of five consecutive years. In addition, members must have contributed to the healthcare industry through publications and presentations, and through their professional development and participation in HIMSS.
Prior to the US Army Medical Department Center and School, Colonel Ralph Franco worked as the CIO for the US Army Pacific Regional Medical Command in Honolulu, Hawai’i, providing Information Management (IM), Information Technology (IT) and Clinical Informatics services for a Joint military healthcare system with eight Tri-Service facilities and 440,000 covered lives in 38 countries spanning 14 time zones and 52 % of the earth’s surface.
Colonel Franco has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York; a Masters of Business Administration from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama and a Masters of Health Administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
