FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
St. Louis, Missouri, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 28, 2010 -- There is a tremendously sad story coming out of Atlanta, Georgia this week. That city has lost the life of a sweet two year old baby. FindTheBestNanny.com extends sympathy towards anyone who knew and cared for her.

Zyda White was being cared for Saturday night by an 11 year old babysitter. When the childs mom returned home she found the childs eyes wide open. An ambulance was called and the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. According to CNN.com, “an autopsy indicated she suffered blunt-force trauma to her head, torso and buttocks.” The babysitter has been taken into custody and has been charged with the death of Zyda White.

FindTheBestNanny.com would like to remind all parents about the importance of finding a mature babysitter to watch your children. An eleven year old is still a child themselves and therefore not old enough to be watching other children.

When looking for childcare families should follow these five steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their children. First, conduct an interview with the babysitter. Spend time getting to know this person. This can be done in a formal setting or an informal setting. Ask questions and listen to answers. Second, check references. Ask the sitter for at least three childcare references that are not family members. You can also talk with friends and co-workers that are not childcare related. Third, run thorough background checks. Regardless of how you came to know this person or how long your families have know each other background checks should be done. Fourth, communicate throughout the time of employment. Communication is the key to any relationship and you want to have a positive relationship with the person watching your child. Finally, trust your instincts. If at any time something doesn’t feel right trust that feeling.
