FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 13, 2010 --Hisbreastcancer.org Launched!

On October 6th 2010 the HIS Breast Cancer Awareness foundation launched their new website at http://www.hisbreastcancer.org.

HIS Breast Cancer Awareness was founded with the mission of spreading awareness as well as offering insight and education on male breast cancer to the world.

Founded by two breast cancer survivors: Vicki Wolf and Harvey Singer they are here to educate; to inform, to bring Awareness, to teach prevention and assist if you have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

The average man in the United States has a risk factor of 0.1% of developing Breast Cancer in a lifetime. This rate increases in men with BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations to 1-5% with BRCA1 and 5-10% with BRCA2.

It is important for a male to learn how to perform a self examination check since mammograms and ultra sounds are not commonly prescribed.

“We want to make available the information we have gathered over the years to aid in living a healthier lifestyle from ways of dealing with stress, getting enough exercise to the foods we eat and the supplements we take to support our body.” Said Vicki and Harvey.

“We are a brother and sister who have both been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Our family history has been affected by several different types of cancer over the years. Breast cancer had an effect on our Aunt who was diagnosed in 1988, our mother in 1995 and 1 month later, her daughter was diagnosed with 1 of what was to become 4 bouts over an eleven year span and in 2008 her son. We are both BRCA 2 Positive. We have 5 children between us and ALL ARE BOYS! There is not enough information and support for men, we hope to help change that.” stated Vicki.

“Our goal is to make society more aware that this disease does exist for men and to find a way to force the medical institutions and insurance companies to screen those who may be at risk. Awareness will lead to more research dollars. More research will hopefully lead to finding the detailed hormonal factors that influence the growth of the disease in men. Maybe, some day, we will find a cure. Together we have formed the H.I.S. Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation . H.I.S also happens to be my initials!” stated Harvey.

HIS Breast Cancer Awareness is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. They need your support to help spread awareness and raise money to help cure breast cancer. Please visit their website for more information at http://www.hisbreastcancer.org.
