The history of jazz music was originated first in the United States, in the late 1800's. It's not known how or where jazz music first was created, yet New Orleans was called he ,"Cradle Of Jazz".

The history of jazz music was originated first in the United States, in the late 1800's.
It's not known how or where jazz music first was created, yet New Orleans was called he ,"Cradle Of Jazz".
The music grew from it's grass roots mixture of deep southern spiritual gospel songs, folk blues, traditional classical, American folk harmonies
and West African rhythms.

Early jazz music was played by guitar players ,banjo music artist, that is until piano players began playing ragtime compositions and roadhouse blues music arrangements.
Famous ragtime songs like Scott Joplin’s, "Maple Leaf Rag", of 1899 inspired music artist, brass musicians and bands to play this new style of music.
The early jazz bands of this era, became so popular in New Orleans, that it became a very common sight to see jazz musicans marching through the streets in parades.
The best jazz bands of the early 1900's, consisted of, guitars, banjos, cornets, a clarinet, tuba, trumpet, bass, drums and piano.
Jazz music picked up steam in the early days as, Thomas Fats Walker, composed the jazz song "Honeysuckle Rose", Fats Walker, who was inspired by ragtime jazz
pianist and stride pianist James Johnson, who was known as a top professional jazz artist of 1904.
Popular jazz band groups where lead by famous jazz leaders, Buddy Bolden of New Orleans and Frank Clay from Indianapolis.
Between 1915 and 1920 the love of jazz music spread to newly created jazz bands across the southern states.
The music was also played by jazz bands on steamboats traveling on the Mississippi river.
Soon after jazz music flourished from state to state and before long jazz music became the talk of the town in Chicago.
Then in 1917, the famous Chicago, " Dixieland Jazz Band " , moved to New York City, and became the first jazz band to record music professionally and selling
records to fans nationally.
The Golden Age Of Jazz
The Golden age of jazz came during the 1920's, when jazz music spread from the southern states to the North and East and West across the USA.
There was also a mixture of Jazz and Blues music during this time.
Mamie Smith recorded a blues song in 1920 called ,"Crazy Blues", and Bessie Smith became the most famous black singer
of the 1920's.
Louis Armstrong - One of The Greatest Jazz Artist Of All Time
Louis Armstrong was a teenager in 1922 living in New Orleans, and playing Cornet.
Armstrong moved to Chicago joining the Creole Jazz Band, led by Joe Oliver, then in 1924 Louis Armstrong joined the Fletcher Henderson Jazz Band.
From the years of 1925 to 1928, Mr Armstrong, recorded music under the band names of , " The Hot Five" and "The Hot Seven" bands.
These records became some of the greatest jazz recordings of all time, with pianist Earl Hines, Clarinetist Johnny Dodd’s and his
brother on drums, Kid Ory on Trombone and of coarse Louis Armstrong playing his instrument and singing jazz and scat singing.
It should also be mentioned that Louis Armstrong was the first well known and the most famous male jazz singer of his time.
Duke Ellington New Jazz Style Of the late 20's and Early 30's
During the roaring twenties, Duke Ellington created his small jazz band of about 10 members playing at the Cotton Club in New York's
Harlem distric in 1927 and playing there for
5 years.
Through radio broadcasts and selling of records, Duke Ellington’s jazz band received international attention.
As a composer-writer, music arranger and pianist Duke Ellington’s inventive jazz style was years ahead of it time.
In 1932 the jazz swing era began with Duke Ellington’s music lead the way when he recorded the song , " It Don't Mean A Thing If It Aint Got That Swing".
Swing music was normally played by BIG BANDS only and allowed for Jazz Improvisation by solo artists.
Other swing bands includes, Glenn Miller, Chick Web , Jimmy Dorsey, Count Basie, Earl Hines, Bob Crosby and Tommy Dorsey.
Also in the 1930's jazz turned to Boogie Woogie Music, which was mainly a piano style with 8 beats to a bar.
Boogie Woogie Music was aggressive and caused people to get excited and dance.
The top jazz vocal artist of this era were, Sarah Vaughan,Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Jimmy Rushings, Jack Teagarden,
Joe Turner, Louis Armstrong, Mildred Bailey and the jazz music vocalist list goes on and ect....
In the 1940's Jazz music started the Bebop craze, with trumpet player Dizzy Gillespie, alto sax player Charlie Parker and pianist Bud Powell, the
new music style they developed became known as Bop or Bebop.
Modern Jazz Styles
The new styles of jazz music eventually lead to more creatively advanced styles of Jazz music, known as cool jazz.
Finally in the 1970's rock, blues and jazz music was mixed together to become
known as Jazz Fusion Music.
Today great jazz artist like guitarist George Benson and jazz and rock guitar player GW Williams are taking jazz music far beyond
where the music has been during the first 120 years.
Proof of this can be heard by rock,jazz and blues guitarist GW Williams, and his new May 5th , 2011 album release called the, "California Rock N Blues Classic".
On that new album the songs - " Monterey Big Band Jazz" and ' California Rock N Blues " ...plus " Monterey Bay Salsa Blues"...must all be heard to believed.
The music is simply incredible.
GW Williams music has cracked the worlds top 100 songs, on the music charts over 5 times...and his song - " Electric Rock Guitarist " , has been
very popular world wide for over 3 years... and even 3 years later,
after it was first released , it's still been ranked in June of 2011 as high as number 82 on the charts, that's not bad for a song that's been around a long time !!
It's also interesting to note that GW Williams music is not only super popular in the United States, but he his ranked high in the U.K. or United Kingdom.Japan,
Norway and many other countries.
Yes folks jazz music is making a huge come back, because of artist like GW Williams and George Beson, just like Eric Clapton did when he helped
bring blues guitar music back, making it popular again with guitar players.
