The truth of the matter is achieving wellness is the key essential component that enables individuals with HIV/AIDS & Sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) to sustain for the long haul. So how does one achieve this level of understanding and wellness? Seeking “Knowledge as Power”.
HIV/AIDS & STD awareness teaches and brings attention through education, self help, networking groups, online interaction thus coming to the point of “Wellness”. HIV does not have to turn into AIDS cutting life short.
A number of agencies, organizations and/or advocates offer directories of community resources on the Internet providing wellness options. At the same time, consumers are now becoming pro active in referencing the Internet in order to research their plan of action through their choices of reading materials, service providers rather than depending on someone or turning to the yellow pages or other sources as they might once have done.
One such voice shares this theory. An experienced author and speaker on the topic of HIV/AIDS,
Venus Perez, a Hispanic woman and a 23year survivor of HIV/AIDS speaks about the history, testimony, education, outcomes and strengths of people living with HIV/AIDS & STDs in her published educational book “I'm Still Here 2nd edition. Venus hopes to empower others by sharing her experiences and providing vital information about HIV/AIDS as well as STDs. Visit her website http://www.venusperez.com
Even in 2010 the number of HIV cases is still growing and people are dying. There have been great strides in the battle on HIV/AIDS yet we are not quite there. Many know the means of transmission, yet many neglect to follow it. Many live the fast life, looking for excitement, for success. Others suffer in silence because of the shame, stigma and misinformation about HIV/AIDS. For you do not have to be infected to be affected by HIV/AIDS & STD’s this disease that has affected the lives of so many.
HIV/AIDS affects us all no matter what color, race or age but together we can make a change on how HIV affects our lives and our well being.
