Holiday Gift-Wrapping Competition To Be Held Among 10 Oc Charities

They’ll be armed with scissors, tape, ribbons, bows, wrapping paper and a heaping dose of creativity. Representatives from 10 of OC’s leading nonprofits will engage in a gift-wrapping competition on Dec. 9 at 10:30 a.m. sponsored by Nello Cucina, an Italian restaurant situated on the lobby level of South Coast Plaza’s tony Crystal Court (3333 South Bear Street) in Costa Mesa. A panel of judges will determine the winner of the contest designed to see which of the 10 charities can pull off the most elaborate and festively decorated package in a 15 minute period. The winning organization will receive a $2,500 catering event that they may redeem in a variety of ways (e.g., a silent auction item, VIP dinner for donors, staff holiday party, etc.)

The public is invited to attend the festivities that are sure to be filled with excitement thanks to the talents of some of the region’s best gift wrappers. A post-event buffet luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.; cost is $15 per person and includes a complimentary gift card for a later visit to Nello Cucina.

Participating charities include the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Blind Children’s Learning Center, Second Harvest Food Bank, Alzheimer’s Association, Beckstrand Cancer Foundation, Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter, Veteran’s First OC, Speech & Language Development Center and THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser.
