The foundations was formed to assist Operation Smile in creating awareness about the plight of children born with cleft lips and palates and raising funds to perform corrective surgery. This feat, which will see Kohler paddling around 50kn per day is a first-ever attempt that will keep him in the water between 5 and 10 hours every day. According to Kohler, this feat will be the first, solo, unbroken paddle around the coast of South Africa. He will set off from the Mozambique border on 1 December, and the journey will culminate once he reaches the Namibian border.
