HollywoodPoker announces GSOP Live 2 Manchester tournament results

Los Angeles, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 10, 2011 -- On the Grand Series of Poker (GSOP) Live 2 ’s fourth day in Manchester, this season’s first main event champion emerged. HollywoodPoker (http://www.hollywoodpoker.com) congratulates German poker player Jens Kerper for bagging the GSOP Live 2 Manchester crown, along with a hefty $81,175 cash prize and a free main event package to GSOP Live 2 Final in the Dominican Republic.

Kerper exhibited a fantastic performance starting with sending James Keys down the rail. Keys, who formerly played in Aussie Millions’ final table, had the most chip stack during the first two days. He had a huge lead, nearly twice the number of chips than that of the next top player, until Kerper almost single-handedly demolished Keys’ massive chip stack.

On the third day, Jens Kerper became the chip leader, putting James Keys in trouble and finally making him the bubble boy at 10th place after Keys shoved his last 150,000 with 79o and Kerper called with A5o.

The final poker table was played in a frenetic pace, immediately losing 5 players in the first two levels. In the end, Jens Kerper and Norwegian player Rolf Inge Kvanik fought a heads-up play, taking only a few hands until Kerper’s Q9 crushed Kvanik’s A8, busting Kvanik out the table.

A total of 257 players joined in the kickoff event, which remains to be quite a good turnout for a fledgling poker series, even though it fell short of the anticipated 300+ entrants. The expectation came from considering the number of online poker sites that offered free packages to the GSOP Live 2 Manchester.
