HOME, Inc. receives Empowerment grant from Motorola Mobility Foundation. The $ 10,000 award was the result of a national competition that highlights innovation taking place in education in the U.S.

The Empowerment Grants program provides non-profit organizations with funding to prepare the next generation for the 21st century by exposing them to new and emerging technologies. Fifty-one non-profits recieved funding to address challenges facing their communities in the three areas of focus – education, health and wellness and community.
“We are incredibly proud to award an Empowerment Grants to HOME, Inc, who was selected for their innovative approaches to using technology to contribute to the improvement of their communities,” said Eileen Sweeney, director of the Motorola Mobility Foundation. “We would also like to thank all of the Empowerment Grant applicants who shared their creative ideas with us.”
As part of the submission process, HOME, Inc. submitted a 3 minute video describing how students in Boston were developing a magazine style TV show that explored opportunities for young people to learn about careers and education in fields that are have promising futures.
